Imagine this: Montenegro, a small country with big dreams, has finally found its chemistry hero! Aleksa Damjanović, a young genius from Podgorica, brought home a bronze medal from the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad in Dubai. Yes, you read that right – BRONZE! And not just any bronze, but the first in Montenegro’s history at this prestigious competition.
His mentor, Željko Jaćimović, and sports director Dragoslav Šćekić couldn’t hide their pride. Šćekić said Damjanović carried Montenegro’s name in the most beautiful way and raised the Montenegrin flag for the first time at this event. “Your result is a pride for all of us,” Šćekić said, emphasizing that this proves Montenegro has the potential for individuals to reach the highest heights.
But let’s be real – how many times have we heard about talents who got forgotten? Will this success be used as a push to invest in knowledge, effort, and excellence of the youth? Or will it all remain just nice words?
In the “Boje jutra” show on July 16, Damjanović was presented as a hope that can change the perception of chemistry in Montenegro. Will younger generations now choose chemistry more often? Will this historic success be the spark that lights a fire in young hearts?
This is not just a story about one medal. It’s a call to wake up, invest in the future, and prove that even a small country can have great champions. Aleksa Damjanović showed it’s possible – now it’s up to us not to let this talent remain a lonely star in the sky.
While the world turns to sports heroes, maybe it’s time we start celebrating those who win medals of knowledge. Because, after all, chemistry is all around us – and maybe Aleksa is the one who will teach us to love it.
So, what do you think? Will this success change anything in Montenegro? Or will we forget it again until the next talent comes along? Drop a comment, spark a debate, or just say – bravo, Aleksa, you’re our hero!
