AMSS WARNS: BORDER CHAOS THIS WEEKEND, EXPECT HOURS OF WAITING!

Get ready, drivers, because this weekend the borders of Serbia will be a total nightmare! AMSS has thrown up a red flag and warned that traffic jams will be worse than ever, especially at crossings towards North Macedonia, Hungary, and Croatia. If you thought the start of summer would be smooth sailing, think again – people already faced hours-long waits during the first weekend of the summer season, and now it’s about to get even worse.

Why? Well, thanks to high schoolers on summer break who decided to hit the road right now instead of later. Traffic will intensify at all border crossings, and AMSS advises planning your trips carefully because wait times can range from 15 to 60 minutes, sometimes even longer at spots like Preševo and Gostun.

And that’s not all! Temperatures will be scorching – around 35°C, with asphalt heating up to a blistering 50°C! Drivers are warned not to drive during the hottest parts of the day and to take frequent breaks, because nobody wants their car to break down in a traffic jam on 50-degree asphalt.

Freight traffic isn’t spared either – on routes towards Croatia, delays are already lasting for hours. AMSS recommends using alternative crossings like Prohorpčinski, where waits are shorter.

Don’t forget to prepare all necessary documents, as border controls are strict – fire extinguishers are mandatory for Greece, green cards for Macedonia, and more. Also, due to roadworks, drivers should be patient and avoid risky overtaking to make up for lost time.

So, if you’re planning to travel this weekend, better stock up on patience, cold water, and good tunes. Or just stay home and watch others suffer in the lines! Got any tricks to survive this madness? Share them in the comments so we can all laugh or cry together over this traffic disaster!
