Blockaders Are History, and Serbia? Only Stronger!
Ana Brnabić, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, made it crystal clear today: blockaders are a thing of the past! Yes, you read that right – those who terrorized citizens for months are now defeated, and decent, normal Serbia continues to fight and win.
The End of Terror on Campuses
Brnabić specifically pointed out the situation at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU), which was the epicenter of the blockades. Although these “most radical blockaders” tried to stop classes, now classes have not only resumed but the dean even requested an alternative space for lessons. FDU does not have online classes – they moved directly from blockades and terror to regular in-person teaching. So, blockaders have fallen, and students are back in the classrooms.
Symbol of Victory – Miloš Pavlović
An example Brnabić gave as a symbol of Serbia’s victory is Miloš Pavlović, a student who was physically thrown out of the dormitory, threatened, and beaten. Despite all that, he took an exam with one of the “biggest blockader professors” and scored a 10! This, according to Brnabić, is a clear sign that Serbia has won and violence will not prevail.
Double Standards of Blockaders
According to her, blockaders have the philosophy that everything allowed to them is forbidden to others. While President Aleksandar Vučić was focused on economic progress and improving citizens’ lives, they were busy destroying the state. Brnabić also pointed to the case of the collapsed canopy at the Novi Sad railway station, where indictments did not include those who supported the blockaders but should have been investigated.
Shocking Photo and Questions for the Prosecutor’s Office
The Speaker of the Parliament commented on a photo showing the state prosecutor for organized crime, Mladen Nenadić, with former officials of the Serbian Railways Infrastructure, linked to the blockades and the canopy collapse. Nenadić is pictured with Nebojša Bojović and Milutin Milošević, who until recently held high positions in the railways. Brnabić expressed shock and emphasized that these people must be subject to investigation, as it is unacceptable for someone who should lead the investigation to be pictured with them.
House Arrest and Injustice
While some women, like Anita Dimkovski and Jelena Tanasković, have been under house arrest for months, their powerful colleagues from the railways are celebrating and drinking with the special prosecutor. Brnabić made it clear that this is unfair and justice must be applied consistently.
Blockaders and False Genocide Narratives
Brnabić condemned the popularization of the false narrative of genocide in Srebrenica spread by blockaders. She stressed that it was a horrific crime but not genocide, and that it is important to tell the truth. She also pointed out double standards – no one condemned Marko Perković Thompson’s concert in Zagreb, while blockaders constantly attack Serbia and the Serbian people.
Attacks on Journalists and Media Silence
The Speaker condemned the attack on Informer editor Dragan Vučićević and the attack on a journalist’s family home. She was shocked that neither UNS nor NUNS spoke out, only ANS, highlighting the importance of having an organized association protecting journalists.
Conclusion: Serbia Cannot Be Stopped!
All in all, Ana Brnabić sends a clear message: blockaders have fallen, Serbia is stronger than ever, and those who tried to destroy the state will be brought to justice. While some engage in destruction, Serbia moves forward – and no one can stop it.
If you thought the blockades were just a student drama, think again. This is a fight for Serbia’s future, and the winner is clear. What do you think? Is Serbia finally on the right path, or are more storms ahead? Drop a comment, let the people’s voice be heard!
