Arrest of Josip Škorić over Corruption in Croatian Roads

In a new USKOK operation, former head of Croatian Roads Josip Škorić was arrested, suspected of accepting bribes related to the installation of signage on Croatian roads and highways. Investigators link the bribes to professor Anđelko Ščukanec and the head of traffic at HAC Silvijo Čamber. The bribes included construction works, dinners, and plane tickets. At the time of arrest, Škorić was carrying the book “The Good, the Bad” by Erik Larson, which depicts the difficult years of Winston Churchill during World War II.
