Arrest over Suspected Corruption in Rakovica Municipality

In a joint operation by the police and Belgrade prosecutor’s office, two individuals were arrested on suspicion of illegal activities that caused damage to the budget of the Rakovica municipality and the city of Belgrade amounting to over 10 million dinars. The suspects are charged with abuse of official position, forgery of official documents, and money laundering. The police released a video of the arrest, and the suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours before being brought to the competent prosecutor’s office. This operation is part of a broader fight against corruption in Serbia.
