Asian markets rise after Wall Street gains.

The markets in Asia and the Pacific mostly rose after Wall Street recorded an increase, despite symbolic Chinese tariffs on American imports. Chinese tariffs cover only 12% of total imports from the USA, and analysts believe that the risk of a trade war is lower than expected, although the possibility of escalation still exists. The CSI300 index of mainland China recorded a decline, while Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s Kospi rose. Indian indices also rose in anticipation of a rate cut.
