Attempted Abduction of a Seven Year Old Girl in Novi Sad

On June 8th, at the Ribarsko Ostrvo camping site in Novi Sad, there was an attempted abduction of a seven-year-old girl. A man tricked the child out of the fenced camp, locked the gate, and took her nearly a kilometer away. Thanks to the quick intervention of the girl’s grandparents and other campers, the perpetrator was caught and reported to the police. Although initially released, the suspect was later detained and questioned. Members of the community are shocked by the incident as the camp is usually a peaceful and safe place. Police and relevant authorities are investigating the case.
