Barcelona’s Talent Hector Fort Misses Medical Exam, Infuriates Hansi Flick

Imagine this – Hector Fort, the 18-year-old right-back and one of Barcelona’s brightest La Masia prospects, managed to be late for mandatory medical exams! Yes, you read that right. While all other players showed up on time, this young talent decided to sleep through the scheduled check-up because he was partying late into the night celebrating teammate Yamalove’s 18th birthday. Hansi Flick, known for his no-nonsense discipline, was not having it and sharply reprimanded Fort in front of the entire squad.

Flick made it crystal clear that rules must be followed from day one of training. The club had already sent players a detailed schedule before the break, explicitly stating that lateness would not be tolerated. But Fort apparently thought his party was more important than professionalism.

This isn’t Flick’s first disciplinary move this year. Back in February, he dropped Jules Kounde from the starting lineup for repeated lateness, and Inaki Pena spent some time on the bench last winter for the same reason. Fort, who made 20 appearances last season and won the domestic treble, has now seriously complicated his standing at the club with this stunt.

Catalan media report that the club is considering loaning Fort out to a less stressful environment to help him calm down. While no official punishment has been announced, Spanish journalists claim Fort will face a fine and might temporarily train with Barcelona Atlètic – a classic Flick pedagogical move to send a message to the whole locker room.

Was Fort’s party worth losing the coach’s trust? Or is Flick just too harsh? Either way, this is a lesson for all young footballers – discipline isn’t optional, it’s mandatory.
