Bebek and Wife Caught in Split Storm: Their Boat on the Brink, Nature Shows Its Teeth!

Just when you think you’ll enjoy a peaceful morning coffee on a boat in Split, nature flips you the bird! Željko Bebek and his wife Ružica faced a real-life nightmare during a fierce storm that hit Split this morning. Heavy rain, hail, and strong winds didn’t just ruin their day—they literally put their boat and lives at risk. While aboard their vessel Pahuljica, the wind started rocking the boat like it was made of paper, and nearby boats began crashing and leaning against each other. To make matters worse, the mast of a neighboring sailboat bent their boat, and the fear of capsizing was very real while they were still inside.

“We have to be extremely careful during the intervention not to compromise the boat’s structure,” Bebek told Dalmatinski portal. Their attempts to secure the boat and separate the leaning vessels were tense, as any wrong move could have led to even bigger disasters. Bebek and his wife had planned to spend a few days in Split, but instead got an unforgettable morning trauma that reminded them of the Zagreb earthquake a few years ago.

“Nature is unbeatable and unbreakable. We must be grateful for moments of peace, love, and health,” Bebek added, while Ružica noted that thankfully, everything turned out relatively okay. However, many people in Split weren’t so lucky—the storm caused massive damage and injuries. For many, a boat isn’t just a leisure tool but a livelihood, making the situation even tougher. Bebek and his wife sincerely wish everyone a speedy recovery and a quick return to work.

This storm isn’t just a local problem; it’s a wake-up call about how powerful and unpredictable nature really is. Next time you plan your morning coffee on a boat, remember this story and maybe think twice. And hey, if you’ve got similar tales or think Bebek might be exaggerating a bit, drop a comment—this is the place to laugh, cry, and share life’s madness!
