Belgrade Assembly in Chaos: Budget Rebalancing, Bickering, and Censorship on Vidovdan

Welcome to the Belgrade Assembly, where budget rebalancing turns into a boxing ring! While the ruling party and opposition exchange insults, Mayor Aleksandar Šapić hides behind claims that he didn’t participate in writing the budget rebalancing, and a councilwoman from Nestorović’s movement was cut off the moment she mentioned Vidovdan. Is this democratic debate or just a public show?

The city budget is on the edge of a 12.9 billion dinar debt, with the government boasting free public transport and pools, while the opposition warns about the shadow economy and insufficient revenues. Ljubinka Kaluđerović from Kreni promeni claims the city is run by 90s rules, and the opposition keeps throwing heavy words, including accusations of Nazism and terrorism.

Many opposition proposals were rejected, including discussions about the state of kindergartens and the cancellation of building permits for controversial buildings. Dobrosav Marić left the SNS council group and now acts as an independent councilor, further complicating the political scene.

All in all, the Belgrade Assembly looks like a ring for political fights, where citizens wonder who really runs the city and if they will ever see the promised capital investments. If you love drama, this is the place for you! So, what do you think about this chaos? Politics or circus? Drop a comment and share your thoughts!
