Belgrade Blockades: Students and Citizens vs. The System, Police in Action

Belgrade is up again today! At multiple spots across the city and all over Serbia, students and informal citizen groups decided to block roads. Why? Because they’re fed up with empty promises and demand snap parliamentary elections, removal of the camp in Pionirski Park, and release of those arrested during previous protests. The police didn’t just sit around — overnight, 44 people were detained, 6 held in custody. The day was mostly peaceful but had some scattered incidents. Students urge everyone not to resist the police, call on opposition parties to boycott the National Assembly, and want citizens to completely stop working. Is this the start of a big shake-up or just another day in Belgrade? Police in masked uniforms try to stop pedestrian crossing blockades, but it seems the will of the people is stronger than anything. Think this is just another protest? Think again. This is a fight for Serbia’s future, and students and citizens aren’t backing down. What about you? For or against? Drop a comment, let’s hear the people’s voice!
