Belgrade’s “City Sanitation” is not giving mosquitoes a break! Over the weekend of July 12 and 13, teams from the ecology and environmental improvement sector will launch a massive adult mosquito control operation across more than 30 locations throughout Belgrade. Yes, you read that right – from the embankments of the Pančevo Bridge, through Borča, to the Veliko Blato lake, no place is safe from these bloodsuckers! The action kicks off on Saturday at 6:30 PM and continues on Sunday from 5:30 PM. The goal? To reduce the number of these annoying insects ruining our summer evenings.
But is this just another seasonal story or will it actually bring relief? Mosquitoes are notorious for their persistence and rapid breeding, and Belgrade, with its canals, lakes, and green areas, is a perfect haven for them. This operation is part of a broader strategy by the City Sanitation to improve the quality of life in the city and protect citizens from potential mosquito-borne diseases.
Many wonder how effective this action will be, but the fact remains – over 30 different locations are covered, showing a serious approach. But will the mosquitoes finally be defeated, or will they just move somewhere else? Time will tell.
Either way, if you planned to enjoy summer evenings without bites, maybe it’s time to prepare – the battle against mosquitoes is in full swing! Got your own tricks to fight these tiny bloodsuckers? Share in the comments, maybe your tip will save someone from a night of torment!
