Belgrade is on track to become the epicenter of global attention! With a whopping 117 countries already confirmed to participate in Expo 2027, Serbia has not only surpassed Astana, the host of the previous specialized expo, but is also on course to break all records. The event, running from May 15 to August 15, 2027, is expected to attract over four million visitors to the Serbian capital during its 93-day run.
Dušan Borovčanin, director of Expo d.o.o. Belgrade, emphasizes that from the very start of the candidacy, Serbia demonstrated it has the knowledge, resources, and people capable of organizing one of the largest international events in the Western Balkans region. Despite competing against wealthier countries, Serbia’s idea and theme stood out as the best.
This expo is not just an event; it’s proof of Serbia’s cultural diplomacy power, successfully uniting 117 countries around universal human values through the theme “Play Humanity: sport, music, everything.” It’s a chance for Serbia to cement its place on the world map as a country capable of hosting world-class events and showcasing its strength and uniqueness.
So get ready for a three-month spectacle that will change how the world sees Serbia. If you think this is just another event, think again — this is a historic moment for the entire region. What do you think? Can Serbia truly shine like never before? Drop a comment and let’s hear your take!
