Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport is ready to shine this summer like never before! After three years of intense construction, the airport has undergone a true revolution in infrastructure and services, setting new standards in the region. With a fully reconstructed main runway, the first-ever implementation of four rapid exits to taxiways, and additional new taxiways, the airport is now prepared to serve up to 15 million passengers annually by the end of the concession period. This is not just a number but a clear sign that Belgrade is becoming the main regional hub of Southeast Europe.
Travelers this season will be able to choose direct flights to as many as 116 destinations, including five long-haul flights — the richest seasonal offer ever available in Serbia. The national airline, Air Serbia, has further strengthened its flight network by establishing a direct flight between Belgrade and Tbilisi and organizing humanitarian flights for children from vulnerable families.
But that’s not all! The airport has doubled the number of parking spaces, added 34 new check-in counters, now totaling 90, and introduced electronic passport reading for faster security checks. Centralized security control and 29 new passport control counters further speed up and ease passenger flow.
For those who like to stay updated, the airport launched an official mobile app that allows real-time flight status tracking and notifications via terminal monitors. Everything is designed to make travel as pleasant, fast, and safe as possible.
After security control, passengers can enjoy an expanded commercial offer with 26 retail outlets, including a new duty-free shop featuring local Serbian specialties. Tesla Square is furnished with new seating, providing a comfortable atmosphere while waiting for flights.
The airport’s CEO, Šivoan Rem Chivoine, emphasizes that all these improvements are part of a strategy to make Belgrade Airport the leading regional hub in Southeast Europe. With a record 8.4 million passengers last year and continuous growth, the airport is on track to serve 15 million passengers annually by the end of the concession period.
So, if you thought flying was boring and stressful, think again! Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport has proven it can be a modern, efficient, and even fun place to start or end your journey.
