Belgrade Protests: Police vs Students, Clashes and Brutal Attacks

Belgrade is once again on fire with protests, and the main players are – you guessed it – students and the police! After students blocked Slavija Square, clashes with police escalated. Police Minister Ivica Dačić did not hold back: brutal attacks on police officers are unacceptable and will be punished! The police are ready to use all their powers and arrest anyone who attacks law enforcement.

On the streets of Belgrade, especially at the intersection of Kralja Milana and Kneza Miloša streets, demonstrators tried to break through the police cordon, and footage shows the clashes intensifying. One demonstrator was arrested after throwing objects at the police.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić appeared before the crowd in Pionirski Park and called for peace, claiming the state is strong and will not allow chaos. However, citizens and students are not backing down – protests continue, with clear demands: dissolve the parliament and hold early elections.

Is this the beginning of a new era in Serbia or just another round in the endless conflict between the government and the people? Police are using tear gas and batons, while students and citizens block streets and stand firm on their demands.

As Belgrade struggles with these disturbances, calls for peace and dialogue sound like a distant dream. Will the authorities manage to calm the situation, or will the clashes escalate to a point of no return? Drop your thoughts – is this a fight for justice or just chaos no one can control?
