Belgrade Thirst Strike: Palilula, Voždovac, and Barajevo Left Dry Amid Waterworks Madness

Belgrade residents, grab your buckets and bottles because the water chaos is back! The public utility company “Belgrade Waterworks and Sewerage” announced that tomorrow parts of Palilula, Voždovac, and Barajevo municipalities will be left without water for a whopping 18 hours! Yes, you read that right — 18 hours with no drop of water from the tap. The water network works are supposedly necessary, but is it really necessary to leave us high and dry every single time? In Palilula, streets like Milana Tankosića, Albanska Spomenica, Vojvode Vuka, Nikodim Milaš, Cvijićeva, and Bistrička will be affected. And to make matters worse, just a few days ago, on June 22, part of Voždovac was already left without water for 22 hours due to similar works! Residents around Bulevar Peka Dapčevića and nearby streets had to rely on water trucks and stockpiles. Can’t these works be better organized? Has anyone asked the citizens how it feels to live almost a whole day without water? If you have thoughts on this watery madness, drop a comment — maybe someone will hear us while we thirst for a drop of water!
