Belgrade Without Water Again: Zvezdara and Čukarica in Chaos!
The public utility giant “Belgrade Waterworks and Sewerage” has decided to remind us all how fun life without water can be! Yes, you read that right – tomorrow, July 4th, parts of Zvezdara and Čukarica will be left without water.
In Zvezdara, Varovnička Street will be without water for a whopping 22 hours! That’s almost a whole day! And in Čukarica? The even side of Požeška Street and Knez Višeslav Paštrović Street will be without water for 18 hours due to planned works.
Of course, don’t worry – water tankers will be provided for the most essential needs. But if you thought you could rely on that, better stock up on drinking water and basic necessities.
This isn’t the first time such things happen, but it seems “Belgrade Waterworks” loves to keep us on edge and test our patience. Is this a sign that Belgrade’s infrastructure is on the brink of collapse? Or just another day in the life of an average Belgrader?
Either way, if you plan to brush your teeth, make coffee, or just drink a glass of water, better do it before the water goes out. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself chasing a water tanker like it’s the last train to Belgrade.
And you? How do you plan to survive this water chaos? Got any tricks for saving water or are you already used to these adventures? Share your stories, maybe you’ll make us all laugh or at least comfort us in this dry situation!
Either way, keep a glass of water close and don’t forget – water is life, but in Belgrade, it’s sometimes a luxury!
