Shocking Land Scam in Belgrade: 21 People Stole 5 Million Euros from the State!

Belgrade Land for Sale? Not Quite!

Imagine this: 21 people, like something out of a movie, figured out how to scam the state out of about 5 million euros! Yes, you read that right – five million! How? By using fake contracts and forged old stamps, these scam masters grabbed state-owned plots in Belgrade.

How did they do it?

First, they searched for empty plots in Belgrade. Then they checked if these plots had owners, whether those owners were alive or had heirs. When they found out the state was the owner, they created fake contracts dated 50-60 years ago! Like time travelers making papers from the past. They used stamps and documents from old times, even destroying court books to cover their tracks.

Selling and more scheming

After becoming owners of the plots, they waited a few months to avoid suspicion. Then they sold the plots to people and companies, using notarized copies of fake documents. Everything looked legal, but it was one big scam.

Who got arrested?

Eight suspects are already in custody, while ten more are still on the run. Among them is the alleged organizer, Nikola L., who is currently a fugitive.

How much damage to the state?

The estimated damage is about 5 million euros, and real owners of the plots were also harmed, some of which even have residential buildings on them!

Why are we not surprised?

When the system can be fooled by one forgery and the rest looks legal, it’s clear it’s time for serious changes. Will justice catch these scammers or will they get away again?
