Welcome to Čačak, where renting a bike has turned into a wallet-busting adventure! This year, the eighth season of bike rentals kicked off on July 1st and runs through the end of September, but do you really know how much this “fun” costs? The starting price is 50 dinars per hour, which sounds like pocket change, but once you start counting hours and days, things get way more complicated and expensive than you thought.
There are five rental spots in the city — near the taxi stand, on the avenue, in Alvadžinica, on Ljubić quay, and at the Mladost sports center. But watch out! If you forget to return the bike on time, the penalty is brutal: if you keep the bike longer than three days, starting the fourth day, you pay 2 dinars per hour, which sounds small but can add up fast.
Rental hours are from 7 AM to 10 PM on weekdays, and 7 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays. Of course, you must return the bike in good condition, or expect extra fees or trouble with the authorities.
Riding through the main city square, almost completely renovated, and the well-kept beach by the Western Morava river is a real treat for cyclists, but is it enough to justify the prices and rules that feel like they’re from another era?
The public utility company Parking servis, which provides this service, claims prices are the same as previous years, but citizens wonder — is that really fair? On one hand, you have an affordable 50 dinars per hour, but on the other, penalties and rules that can cost you more than you planned.
Is this just another example of how services in Serbia are sold as cheap but turn out complicated and pricey? Or is it time for clearer rules and transparent pricing? While you ponder that, maybe just grab your bike and enjoy the ride — but keep an eye on the clock, because penalties are lurking!
So, dear readers, what do you think about these prices and rules? Have you had any experience renting bikes in Čačak? Drop a comment, share your stories, or just crack a bike joke — because hey, a little laughter never hurts!
