33 years of waiting for justice, and war criminals are still free! The Klapuh family was brutally murdered, and their killers — Zoran Vuković and Radomir Kovač — were convicted in Montenegro but still live freely in Foča, Bosnia and Herzegovina! NGOs and the Human Rights Action (HRA) demand urgent measures to bring these monsters to justice. How is it possible that four members of the Army of the Republika Srpska, who on July 6, 1990, killed Hasan, Ferida, and their daughter Sena Klapuh, have not served a single day in prison? The Montenegrin court sentenced them to 20 years in prison, but they were convicted in absentia because they fled to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vidoje Golubović, their accomplice, is the only one who served eight months for failing to report the crime. HRA reminds that according to the European Convention on the Transfer of Criminal Proceedings, BiH can take over the case and retry these criminals since they are BiH citizens. However, authorities in BiH are not taking necessary steps. The victims’ remains were only recently exhumed and sent for DNA analysis, and proper identification and dignified burial are still underway. This case is a disgrace to justice and human rights in the region. If justice cannot be served even after three decades, what can we expect? Will the criminals remain unpunished forever? Share your thoughts if you think it’s time to finally resolve this!
