British Motorcyclist Embarks on Historic Record Attempt: Circumnavigate the Globe in Just 19 Days!

Crazy Record on Two Wheels: British Rider Sunderland Embarks on Fastest Motorcycle World Tour!

Imagine this – riding around the entire world on a motorcycle in less than three weeks! This isn’t a movie scene, but the real plan of British rally rider Sunderland (36). He unveiled his latest and craziest sports project at the Goodwood Festival of Speed – to break the world record for the fastest motorcycle circumnavigation of the globe.

A Record Shaking the World

The current record is held by Kevin and Julia Sanders, with a time of 19 days, 8 hours, and 25 minutes. Sunderland is determined to beat it and plans to start from London in September on his Triumph Rally Explorer motorcycle. His route is a true adventure – across Europe, Turkey, the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, then through the Australian desert, New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Africa, and back to Europe via southern Spain.

Why Is This Crazy?

Unlike standard rally rides, this challenge requires the motorcycle’s odometer not to stop even during ocean crossings! The route must be continuous, start and end at the same point, cover at least 29,000 kilometers, all on the same motorcycle. Sunderland will spend up to 15 hours a day on the bike, battling cold, rain, heat, fatigue, and mental exhaustion.

Preparation and Support

Sunderland is aware of the hellish challenge ahead but has the support of his team and wife Julia, who helps with planning and motivation. This endeavor is similar to the Dakar Rally but over a longer timeframe and with multiple time zone crossings.

Why Should We Care?

In a world where everything seems done, Sunderland’s project proves that adventure and madness are still alive. Will he succeed in breaking the record and becoming a legend? Time will tell, but one thing is sure – this is a story you don’t want to miss.

If you’ve ever dreamed of crazy adventures, here’s your adrenaline fix! How long could you endure 15 hours a day on a motorcycle? Share your wildest travel ideas, maybe Sunderland will get inspired!
