Bruno Petković Transfer: The Drama Continues!
Bruno Petković, the Croatian striker who scored an impressive 88 goals and provided 61 assists for Dinamo Zagreb, remains at the center of a transfer saga. After leaving Dinamo as a free agent on July 1st, media outlets had already linked him to Turkish club Kocaelispor, but negotiations fell through at the final stage. Now, Spanish La Liga club Deportivo Alavés, which barely avoided relegation last season, has entered the picture.
Alavés’ sporting director, Sergio Fernandez, did not confirm whether Petković is their new signing but admitted that the 30-year-old Croatian forward is highly sought after in the market. “I wouldn’t say 90%, but certainly many teams are looking for a striker like him,” Fernandez said at a press conference in Vitoria.
Deportivo Alavés currently has three forwards under contract, but it is clear that Petković could be an addition if the club decides to bring him in. Fernandez emphasized that the club is taking the right steps to strengthen the squad, having recently signed midfielder Pablo Ibáñez from Osasuna and Spanish defender Jonathan Ott from PAOK.
Petković is also a Croatian international with 42 caps and 11 goals, including a crucial goal against Brazil in the World Cup quarterfinals. His career is rich, and now the question is where he will continue – Spain, Turkey, or perhaps another unexpected destination?
As the transfer saga unfolds, fans and media continue to speculate. Will Deportivo Alavés finally manage to sign this experienced striker? Or will Petković choose another club? One thing is certain – this transfer drama is far from over, and we will be following it until the final whistle.
