A horrifying incident shook Mirijevo yesterday – a former partner brutally attacked M.K., a close friend of famous singer Ana Nikolic, in her apartment. While she was taking out the trash, P.R. (48) sneaked into the apartment and stabbed her with a knife. After the attack, he tried to inflict severe injuries on himself, even attempting to cut off his own genitals! This is not the first time M.K. has been a victim of his violence. On March 11 last year, P.R. brutally beat and tortured her, and when she tried to escape to the terrace, he grabbed her hair and dragged her back inside. P.R. had previously been convicted of murder in 2010, when he killed Zoran Tomović in Belgrade over a drug-related conflict. During the trial, he admitted the crime and said he committed the murder due to drug addiction. Shockingly, another incident occurred in the same apartment in March this year – an off-duty police officer was injured, but details remain unclear. M.K. is active on social media but never posted pictures of P.R., although she once praised him with an expensive gift. After the attack, P.R. was hospitalized, and the case was reported to the First Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade. This case sheds light on the dark side of domestic violence and raises the question of how to protect victims who are in danger from their violent partners.
