Cate Blanchett leads a new initiative for the Displacement Film Fund to support refugee filmmakers with €100,000 for short films about the experience of displacement. The project, in collaboration with the International Film Festival Rotterdam and UNHCR, aims to become a long-term program. The fund is a response to the global displacement crisis, where, according to UNHCR, one in 67 people is forcibly displaced. The final grant recipients will be selected and announced at the Cannes Festival.
