But wait, there’s more! Out of 21 surveyed industries, 11 recorded expansion in June, compared to only 7 in May. Especially impressive is the production of high-tech products and consumer goods, which stayed in the growth zone with PMI values of 51.4 in June, another sign that China isn’t planning to slow down.
What does this mean for the world? Well, if China’s industry starts to accelerate, it could unleash a flood of products on the global market, affecting prices and supply chains. Of course, it’s not all rosy – a multi-week drought threatens agricultural yields, which could stir economic unrest.
