Conflict between RTCG General Director and Media Union of Montenegro over Salary Negotiations

The Main Board of the Media Union of Montenegro (SMCG) accused the general director of RTCG, Boris Raonić, of not knowing with whom he should negotiate salary increases for employees of the public service. Raonić called members of the union’s management board to take a polygraph test, which SMCG considered an inappropriate move and a sign of ignorance of union rights and procedures. The union emphasizes that the only authorized negotiator for the collective agreement within RTCG is the union of RTCG employees, which is part of SMCG. Raonić also accused the union of obstructing the adoption of the sectoral collective agreement, which the union denies, stating that Raonić is trying to cover up the persecution of union members. The union has informed international organizations about the situation and provides full support to the RTCG employees’ union in their fight to preserve unionism in the public service.
