Constitution of Varaždin County Assembly and Political Coalitions

Following local elections in Varaždin County, HDZ secured the necessary majority in the county assembly with 19 councilors. At the constitutive session, Krunoslav Lukačić from HNS was elected as the assembly president, supported by the independent platform Sjever. The opposition criticized the agreement, calling it political horse-trading. County prefect Anđelko Stričak emphasized the importance of citizens’ trust and plans for balanced development of the county. Representatives of both the majority and opposition announced further cooperation and openness to proposals.
