Construction of the Reversible Hydroelectric Power Plant Bistrica in Serbia

The project for the construction of the reversible hydroelectric power plant Bistrica in Serbia is currently in the phase of obtaining location permits for the main facility. Representatives of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, Elektroprivreda Srbije, and contractors are monitoring progress, with engineering and geological surveys being conducted as planned. The project is strategically important for Serbia’s energy stability, with a capacity of around 600 MW, and is the first such facility built in Serbia in several decades. Planned works include the relocation of state roads and construction of supporting infrastructure, with construction expected to begin early next year. The project aims to balance the power system and support renewable energy sources.
