Finally, Construction of Public Parking Garage in Čačak Begins: Mayor Promises, Citizens Wait

The city of Čačak, which has been waiting for a public parking garage for years, can finally breathe a sigh of relief! Mayor Milun Todorović has announced that construction of the long-promised public parking garage with multiple parking spots should begin by the end of this year. Yes, you read that right – after endless delays and property-rights issues, the end of the wait is finally in sight.

The preparation of the project and technical documentation is in its final phase, and the building permit is expected within the next month. Financing? The mayor is optimistic, hoping that only ten percent of the funds will come from the city budget, with the rest secured from other sources. And most importantly, there will be no public-private partnership – the garage will remain city-owned.

The garage will be located near the current taxi station, meaning the city center will finally get the much-needed parking spaces. This is news that has been awaited for a long time, as parking in Čačak has become a real nightmare for drivers.

But let’s be real – how many times have we heard such promises before? Deadlines have already been pushed back, and citizens remain skeptical. Will this time be different? The mayor insists it will, but time will tell.

Meanwhile, as we wait for the shovel to finally hit the ground, we can only hope this garage will truly ease life for Čačak residents and not just remain another promise on paper.

What about you? Do you believe this garage will really be built by the end of the year, or is this just another bedtime story? Drop a comment and let’s see how many optimists and skeptics are out there!
