Around 2:30 PM today in New Belgrade, a real drama unfolded – a construction crane collapsed amid a fierce storm raging through the city. Neighbor Slavica Marić described the moment as if the entire building was about to collapse. The wind was so strong that visibility was near zero. The material damage is massive – cars and the construction site were damaged, and the storm tore off roofs and uprooted trees across the city. Luckily, no one died, but four people suffered minor injuries and one person was seriously hurt, including a 25-year-old man who was hit on the head by a falling roof part in Surčin. Emergency services responded to multiple locations. This storm didn’t just hit Belgrade but also Subotica and Novi Sad, leaving chaos and fear in its wake. Streets are littered with broken trees, and power outages and traffic light failures add to the mess. Residents are in shock, wondering if this is just the start of hellish weather conditions to come. Got a similar story or were you there?
