Crazy July Weather: Snow in Switzerland and Storms Ravaging the Balkans

Imagine this: mid-July, peak of summer, and it’s snowing in Switzerland! Yes, you read that right. At the Flüela Pass, temperatures dropped to a chilly 2 degrees Celsius, and a little girl took the chance to build a snowman. While the rest of Europe is roasting at 30+ degrees, Switzerland turned into a winter wonderland. But wait, there’s more! Across the Balkans, especially in Croatia, storms have wreaked havoc. A catamaran carrying nine passengers capsized near the island of Kaprije due to severe weather, and all passengers fell into the sea! Luckily, tragedy was avoided, but two foreigners were hospitalized. Winds tore off shutters, hail the size of walnuts pelted down, and streets flooded with torrents of water. People were left without electricity, and vehicles were damaged. Meteorologists warn that such extreme weather events will become more frequent. Is this a sign of climate change or just nature showing its teeth? Either way, summer 2025 is definitely not what we expected. If you thought summer meant sun and beach, think again! So, have you built a snowman in July or battled a storm yet? Share your wild weather stories in the comments — maybe we’re not alone in this madness!
