Croatia eases foreign worker laws for healthcare and jobs.

The Government of Croatia has proposed amendments to the Foreigners Act that would allow for the extension of temporary residence for individuals undergoing medical treatment and facilitate employment in occupations experiencing shortages. Prime Minister Andrej Plenković emphasized the need for a better-regulated legal framework due to increased demand for workers, particularly in construction, tourism, and hospitality sectors. Most foreign workers come from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nepal, Serbia, and other countries. Interior Minister Davor Božinović highlighted the alignment with the EU Blue Card Directive.
