Dačić and SPS: Symbol of Continuity or an Unbreakable Political Fortress?

SPS Celebrates 35 Years and Ivica Dačić Declares: The Party Will Not Fall! Ahead of the grand session of the main board, Ivica Dačić, president of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), boldly proclaims that SPS is a symbol of continuity and stability in Serbian politics. “The 14th kilometer may fall, but SPS will not!” he declares, making it clear that the party has no plans to disappear from the political scene.

Dačić highlights the fruitful cooperation with the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and President Aleksandar Vučić, which has led to significant achievements including economic development, infrastructure projects, and strengthening Serbia’s international standing. “Twice we had a joint presidential candidate and won the elections,” he reminds.

But it’s not all praise and glory. Dačić announces internal reforms, personnel and program changes, and a fight to preserve unity and loyalty to the people and the state. “Our struggle is not over,” he says, emphasizing that SPS will not change its name, color, or symbols just to please voters.

The main tasks ahead are strengthening the party’s identity and preparing for the next political battle, with a regular congress planned for the end of next year. Dačić does not hide that he will use his rights as president to address inactivity, irresponsibility, and conflicts within the party.

SPS is the longest-standing political organization in modern Serbia, founded 35 years ago, and Dačić is proud of the tradition and continuity the party represents. “SPS is the holy scripture of Serbian politics,” he proclaims.

If you think this is just another political story, think again. Dačić and SPS show they are ready to fight and survive through all storms. What do you think — can SPS really fall? Or is it a fortress that will endure all tempests? Drop a comment and let the voice of the people be heard!
