Five health workers got sick from inhaling fuel oil fumes.

Five healthcare workers in Niš were poisoned by fuel oil that leaked into the sewage system from the City Heating Plant, causing symptoms such as nausea and headaches. Due to the unpleasant smell, the “Pčelica” kindergarten was also evacuated. Authorities have confirmed that the drinking water is safe and measures have been taken to protect citizens. Dr. Radomir Kovačević emphasizes that fuel oil, although the least dangerous petroleum derivative, can cause toxic effects, especially in children and the elderly. Evacuation and implementation are recommended.
