Get ready, because from July 24 to August 8, Montenegro is lighting up the diaspora fire again! Diaspora Days 2025 are coming with a rich program promising to connect the homeland with its people around the world. Six municipalities – Rožaje, Berane, Petnjica, Gusinje, Plav, and Ulcinj – have joined forces to present a cultural spectacle aimed at preserving identity and tradition.
But is this just another event that goes unnoticed, or a real chance for the diaspora to feel part of their country? The program is packed with events: cultural, educational, and social, aiming to strengthen ties and showcase local potentials. The grand opening is in Rožaje, and the closing ceremony in Berane, where awards will be given to prominent diaspora members.
While authorities try to show they care about the diaspora, one wonders – how truly involved is the diaspora in these events? Are these just empty words or a genuine opportunity for the diaspora to come home and feel belonging?
Either way, Diaspora Days 2025 are here, and if you’re from the diaspora or curious about what’s happening with our people abroad, maybe it’s time to check out the program and see what’s on offer. And if you have an opinion, you know where the comment box is – drop a line, let’s see who’s in and who’s out on this event!
