Ivan Đurišić’s Deconstruction of the Algorithm: The Painting That Shatters the Digital World

Tonight at 9 PM, the Velimir A. Leković Gallery opens an exhibition that will blow your mind – “Deconstruction of the Algorithm” by Ivan Đurišić! This contemporary Montenegrin painter, with over 20 years of experience and awards like the Best Student of the University of Montenegro, is not here to serve you ordinary paintings. No, he’s smashing the digital world into pieces and putting it back together his way.

Born in Podgorica, Đurišić graduated and earned his master’s in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cetinje, under professors Dragan Karadžić and Ratko Odalović. His art isn’t just color and canvas – it’s an inner dialogue where emotions, instinct, and symbolic expression break down the assumed structures and algorithms we blindly follow today.

This exhibition opens the door to a visual world where painting becomes a medium to question complex thought processes. With strong colors and dynamic gestures, Đurišić’s works are multilayered meanings and reflections on the role of images in the digital age.

He has exhibited widely across Montenegro and the region – Podgorica, Tivat, Herceg Novi, Budva, Belgrade, Rijeka – and won numerous awards, including the Audience Award at the Podgorica Art Salon. But the Bar audience will get the first chance to see this cycle of works in the setting of a gallery that has been a landmark meeting place for significant names in regional fine arts for decades.

If you think art is just for people with glasses and serious faces, think again. Đurišić challenges you to break your prejudices and dive into a world where algorithms aren’t just codes but emotions and symbols on canvas.

So, what are you waiting for? Go see it, and if you don’t like it – at least you’ll have something to argue about over coffee! Or maybe drop a comment and tell us what you think about this digital revolution on canvas. Art has never been this fun and provocative!
