Detention Extended for Suspects in Criminal Organization and Smuggling Case in Montenegro

Detention Extended in Montenegro: Criminals Still on the Loose?

Is justice on hold in Montenegro? Three suspects — Muja Mujević, Velimir Milačić, and Žarko Bulatović — have had their detention extended for another three months, until October 10th, on suspicion of creating a criminal organization and engaging in prolonged smuggling activities.

Who are they and why are they still detained?

The accused were arrested back on April 12th, and their detention has been extended twice — first on May 9th, and now by the decision of Montenegro’s Supreme Court. The reasons? Risk of flight, possibility of reoffending, and obstruction of the legal process.

What punishments do they face?

According to the law, such crimes can carry prison sentences of up to ten years or even harsher penalties, especially considering the manner of execution and the consequences.

Fighting crime or just a show?

As the detention keeps getting extended, the public wonders if justice will ever be served or if these cases will just remain numbers in statistics. Is the system effective enough to tackle organized crime, or are these measures just a facade?

What do you think?

Is the detention extension justified, or is this just another example of delayed justice in Montenegro? Drop your thoughts, crack a sarcastic joke, or just comment — because who really enjoys boring news without a little spice?
