Amid the energy crisis and climate challenges, the concept of energy communities—where citizens, local authorities, and small and medium enterprises jointly produce and use energy from renewable sources—is gaining importance in Europe. In Serbia and the region, this concept is still emerging despite significant potential. Energy communities enable active citizen participation in the energy transition, cost reduction, and increased energy independence.

They highlight the potential for cost savings, energy security, and gradual transition to renewables, often stressing cooperation between government, businesses, and citizens.
Right: Right-leaning media focus on the economic and energy independence aspects of energy communities. They emphasize reducing energy costs for consumers and increasing national energy security. Some may be cautious about regulatory burdens but generally support initiatives that promote local production and market-driven energy solutions.
