The Disappearance of Little Danka Ilić: Family Drama and Dark Secrets Shaking Zaječar
The disappearance of two-year-old Danka Ilić on March 26th this year at Banjsko Polje in Zaječar has turned into a nightmare for her family and all of Serbia. Her grandfather, Časlav Dragomirović, has spoken out for the first time about the events leading up to her disappearance, revealing shocking details and family secrets that shed new light on this tragic case.
A Child ‘In Her Own World’
Časlav describes Danka as a calm, bigger child compared to her peers, who was not easily lost and often was in her own world. On that fateful day, his daughter Ivana Ilić called him to inform him that the children were going to the plot at Banjsko Polje, where they played near an abandoned house. Časlav immediately went to the scene, where he found police patrols, but he did not see Ivana, nor was she questioned.
Mysterious Information and Accusations
The grandfather revealed that he decided to share for the first time information he heard about the Dragijević family from the village of Zlota, where the father of the accused Dejan Dragijević disappeared mysteriously. According to him, two people – a woman and an unknown older man – were seen in connection with this case, but it remains under investigation.
Charges of Murder and Cover-Up
The body of little Danka has not yet been found, but Dejan Dragijević and Srđan Janković, waterworks workers from Bor, are charged with her murder. According to the indictment, the girl was first hit by a car and then drowned. Although they confessed during the investigation, they later claimed they said everything under pressure. Additionally, the accused’s father, Radoslav Rade Dragijević, and brother Dalibor Dragijević were arrested for helping to hide the body, and Dalibor died in custody under unclear circumstances.
State and Justice: Where Is the Truth?
This case exposes deep cracks in the judicial system and society. How is it possible that the child’s body has not been found, and the accused still deny guilt? How can the family and community find peace when the truth is hidden behind layers of lies and suspicion?
Conclusion: When Justice Is Delayed, Hope Is Lost
The disappearance and death of little Danka Ilić is not just a tragedy for one family but a warning for all of us. As the investigation continues, the question remains – how many more such cases are waiting to be solved? And how long will we stay silent until justice is served?
