During the 19th century, the British aristocracy faced financial problems, but the nobility managed to maintain their status by marrying wealthy American women, known as “Dollar Princesses.” One of them was Jennie Jerome, who began a relationship in London with the future King Edward VII and later married Lord Randolph Churchill. After the marriage, their son Winston Churchill was born. Jennie and Randolph later lived separately, and both had extramarital affairs.
