DPS Exposes Chaos in Montenegrin Police: Mayhem, Murders, and No Accountability!

Chaos in Montenegro’s Security Sector: DPS Blasts Police Leadership for Mayhem and Murders!

The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) of Montenegro is not holding back. They say today’s scandalous press conference by Police Director Lazar Šćepanović perfectly shows what DPS has been warning about for a long time — the security sector is in total chaos, full of ignorance and zero professional integrity.

Murders and Mayhem on the Streets

DPS points out that the consequences are deadly serious. Recently, there have been two murders, ongoing gang clashes, two shootings, and a brutal beating of the Mayor of Budva — all within just three days. Yet, the key figures in the security sector — Šćepanović, Danilo Šaranović, Aleksa Bečić, and Goran Jokić — refuse to resign. DPS calls this a complete lack of moral and professional responsibility.

No Accountability, Just Careerism

DPS reminds us that during their time in power, worsening security situations led many security chiefs to resign, understanding the meaning of moral and professional accountability. Today, it’s a different story. The security sector is run by ruthless, frustrated careerists with limited professional and human capacities.

Podgorica and Cetinje: The Deadly Hotspots

The situation is especially dire in the Podgorica and Cetinje regions, where about 40 people have been killed in the last three years. Goran Jokić, head of the regional center “Center” responsible for these areas, apparently feels no need to take responsibility or step down.

What’s Next?

DPS calls for urgent action and the removal of incompetent officials because Montenegrin citizens deserve safety and peace. The security sector must not be a playground for personal interests and criminal showdowns. If this continues, who will be next?
