Imagine this – the legendary Dragačevo Trumpet Festival, a decades-old symbol of top-notch trumpet music and Balkan spirit, is now embracing modern sound! Yes, you read that right! The contest “How Does Guča Beat Sound?” is merging traditional trumpet music with electronic beats and is calling on brave music producers to spark a revolution at the festival.
This year, the 64th edition of the festival will take place from August 8 to 10 in Guča, organized by the municipality of Lučani, the Guča Cultural Center, and the Dragačevo Tourist Organization. The contest is open to everyone, from professionals to amateurs, who want to combine authentic trumpet samples by Marko Marković, one of the most respected young trumpeters, with contemporary electronic sounds.
A professional jury led by Slobodan Veljković Coby, one of the most successful producers in the Balkans, will select three finalists who will get the chance to perform in front of hundreds of thousands of people at the festival! And if that’s not enough, finalists will also receive valuable music equipment provided by Skymusic Center.
The application deadline is July 20, and finalists will be announced on July 25. All details and information are available on gucafest.rs.
This fusion of tradition and modern sound is not just a musical experiment – it’s a cultural bomb that could change the face of the Dragačevo Festival and maybe even the entire Balkan music scene. Are you ready to hear how Guča’s beat sounds? If you have an idea, now’s the time to show it! If not, just watch what happens – it’s going to be wild!
And if you think mixing trumpet and electronic music is a weird idea, remember that the biggest musical revolutions always started as something that seemed crazy. So drop a comment, share your thoughts – is this a rescue for traditional music or just another attempt to sell something unnecessary? Either way, you won’t want to miss this story!
