Dramatic Rescue Operation After Person Fell from a Bridge in Istria

This morning in Pazin, a dramatic rescue operation took place after a person fell from the Vršić bridge, above the Pazin pit which is 52 meters deep. The HGSS Istra station, firefighters, emergency medical services, and police quickly responded and located the injured person in an extremely difficult-to-access terrain. The person survived the fall and was evacuated using specialized lifting techniques, then transported by helicopter to a hospital in Rijeka. Similar HGSS rescue operations have been reported in other parts of Croatia, emphasizing the importance of training and professionalism of rescue teams. The Independent Police Union expressed gratitude and admiration for all participants in such operations, highlighting the bravery and dedication of the rescuers.
