Driver Known to Police and Serbian Without Valid Documents Tried to Break Through Military Blockade in Udbina!

On Thursday, July 10, a scene straight out of an action movie unfolded at the Josip Jović military barracks in Udbina. Three civilians, including a driver known to the police for various offenses, attempted to illegally enter the barracks by car and bypass a military blockade. The driver refused to obey the soldier’s orders and literally drove straight towards a member of the armed forces, who had to step aside to avoid being hit!

The car was driven by a Croatian citizen known to the police for migrant smuggling and arson of a café in Istria, while a Serbian citizen without valid residence documents in Croatia was also in the vehicle. All were arrested, and a small amount of alcohol was detected in their blood.

The military police filed a criminal complaint against the driver on suspicion of using force against an official, while all participants were issued mandatory misdemeanor orders for violating the defense law. This operation was the result of cooperation between the military police and the Lika-Senj police.

This incident sheds light on serious security lapses and shows how some individuals are willing to endanger the safety of military property and personnel. Is it possible that people with criminal records and without valid documents can freely enter military facilities? What’s next – movie-like scenes of military blockades turning into races and chases?

It is clear that security at these sites is seriously compromised, and the authorities must urgently respond to prevent such incidents in the future. If soldiers have to jump aside to avoid being hit by a vehicle, something is seriously wrong.

What do you think about this incident? Is this just the tip of the iceberg or a sign that security in our country is on shaky ground? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s for tougher measures and who thinks this is all blown out of proportion!
