A sinkhole that swallowed a truck at an intersection near Tokyo has connected with another hole, and the driver has been trapped for the third day. The hole in Yashio, Saitama Prefecture, is now about 20 meters wide. Local firefighters are considering using heavy machinery to remove the soil, while contact with the 74-year-old driver has been lost.
