Four Main Stations and Exclusive Rights
Joby Aviation, the company behind this, has already completed the first test flight of its air taxi. This flying car can zoom at 320 km/h, covering up to 240 kilometers, all silently and with zero emissions. The service will start with four main stations: Dubai International Airport, Palm Jumeirah, Downtown Dubai, and Dubai Marina.
Joby Aviation snagged exclusive rights to operate these air taxis in Dubai for six years, meaning they’re the only game in town for this futuristic ride.
Who Can Afford These Air Taxis?
Sounds like a dream for anyone stuck in traffic, right? Well, initial prices will mostly target high-income passengers. So if you’re not ready to pay premium, you’ll probably stay stuck on the roads.
Joby’s UAE director, Anthony Curry, says they want to change how people commute to work, while production head Didier Papadopulos calls it a step into aviation’s future.
