Duplantis Wins in Monaco, But World Record Remains Untouched… For Now!

Tonight at the Diamond League meeting in Monaco, Swedish pole vaulter Armand Duplantis showed once again why he’s the king of the pole vault – but he didn’t manage to break his world record for the 13th time! Yes, you read that right – the 13th time!

Duplantis attempted to clear the bar at 6.29 meters three times but couldn’t surpass his own world record of 6.28 meters, set just last month in Stockholm. However, he did break the Monaco meeting record by clearing 6.05 meters.

Greek athlete Emanuel Karalis finished second with 5.92 meters, while Australian Curtis Marshall took third with the same height but one failed attempt more.

This event once again proved how dominant Duplantis is in his discipline, but also how tough it is to push the limits when you’re already at the top of the world.

If you thought Duplantis would easily break the record, think again! Pole vaulting is not for the faint-hearted, and Armand keeps us all on the edge of our seats.

What do you think – will Duplantis break his record soon, or will we be waiting a while longer for that dream jump? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s the optimist and who’s the realist!
