Today, Serbia felt an earthquake measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter near Meljaka, about 11 kilometers from the city center. The hypocenter was approximately 5 kilometers deep, which is quite shallow and can cause noticeable ground shaking. So far, there are no reports of material damage or injuries, but authorities are monitoring the situation closely. This is not the first time Serbia has experienced an earthquake, but each time the question arises – are we really prepared? Are our buildings and infrastructure resilient enough to withstand such natural disasters? While politicians play their games, ordinary people are left in uncertainty. Will the next quake be stronger? Will it catch us off guard? This situation is a wake-up call for all of us to take natural hazards more seriously. If you have any thoughts or experiences, feel free to share them, because these topics shouldn’t be left unheard!
