Earthquakes hit Santorini; people evacuated for safety.

On the Greek island of Santorini, a series of earthquakes occurred, some of which exceeded a magnitude of five on the Richter scale, prompting the evacuation of the population and the implementation of precautionary measures. Although the earthquakes are not related to volcanic activity, it is advised to avoid the coast and unstable buildings. Seismologist Tomislav Fiket points out that this is a “swarm of earthquakes,” which often does not result in stronger quakes. It was highlighted that, although the earthquakes are not of volcanic origin, there is a possibility of a tsunami due to the shifting of the seabed.
