An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale struck Taiwan, causing a series of weaker tremors and minor damage, local authorities reported. The main earthquake occurred in the city of Dapu, with the epicenter located about 250 kilometers south of Taipei. After the main tremor, around a dozen smaller tremors followed. The U.S. Geological Survey stated that these are aftershocks from the 6.4 magnitude earthquake that hit Dapu on January 21, when 15 people were slightly injured.
